  • Justice for all...

    June 28, 2005

I'm sure you've all heard of the ludicrous supreme court ruling the other day about eminent domain. It's now legal for the gubment to take someone's land and give it to someone else if said gubment can make more money in revenues from the new owner. This is such a blow to all that's decent it's hard for me to believe, but it's true. Since I'm such an appreciater of irony and poetic justice this months "greatest american hero" award goes to Logan Darrow Clements, who is seeking to seize a supreme court justice's house to build a hotel. God bless you Mr Clements, and godspeed.

    Ave Maria Sharapova

    June 22, 2005

Well it's Wimbledon time again. I know, you're thinking "but Q, you don't watch sports" and that's where you'd be wrong. It's an odd thing but I actually watch more sports than I probably should. I think it's a Boston thing. You see, in Boston even people who aren't sports fans kinda secrectly watch sports. Those who aren't considered sports fans in Boston probably would be in other locales. And I'm not just talking about the "fair weather" fans of the last few years. I'm talking about people who liked the Red Sox even when they sucked. Or people who went to Pats games when there was no chance in hell they were going to win anything. Or even people who actually still watched Celtics games this year. And yes, I miss hockey but that might me the Canadian in me too. Anywho, it's tennis time and I watch it. It's slightly better than golf but not quite football. It's hard to believe it was a year ago I sat in this same spot and watched a 17 year old Maria Sharapova win Wimbledon. A year has passed. A goddamn year. We're still at war, my dog is a little calmer and I still have a liver. (sort of) These are the ways we pass through our lives. Like "Oh yeah, I remember the year she won" or "That was when I went to jail" and "How long ago did Reagan get shot?" It's strange to me, the passing of time. I guess sometimes it seems a shame that I can't do a damn thing about it. Other times though it makes me glad. It seems reassuring that no matter what happens those years will keep ticking by, with or without me, with or without you. Cheerio!

    still who alive
    is asking What

    You wouldn't have

    well....

    June 9, 2005

I'm home. It was a long three weeks but we survived so it's OK. The way I look at it, any tour where nobody gets hurt or arrested is a pretty successfull trip. My brain however is tired. My brain, oh my poor brain, have you finally forsaken me? Probably not. I most likely need some coffee and food then a couple days sleep...
