I wasn't going to post here anymore, I've tuned out of society to say the least. I leave my house for gigs and that's it. I don't read the news anymore...it's too painful. The odd part is, I can go for weeks without news and still know exactly what's going on. It's all just more of the same. More lies, more coverups, more bullshit, more fear and more ignorance. That's why I've been away for the last 6 months. Well, I had to break the silence here to say goodbye to Rob Fried, percussionist for Max Creek. I just found out today that he passed away a month ago from a rare blood disease. I'd been to see the Creek play a thousand times when I was in high school, and shared gigs alot since then. I never really mourn all that much for people, but when it's a fellow musician it's different. Rob, you will be missed. Rock on.

I was remembering this morning about this jam seesion I went to a couple of months back... It was all these bluegrass traditionalist pricks that I didn't know. So anyway, I walk in and we're talking, "So what do you do?" one of them asked. " I'm a bass player" I replied. "JUST a bass player? What else do you do?" "I'm JUST a bass player, let's play some jazz. What? You JUST play bluegrass? What else can you play?" .........pricks.

According to a new study done by some whacked out Brits, dogs pick up their owners accents. Apparently, and obviously, dogs are more likely to pick it up if you have some extreme affectaions in your speech. Although I've lived down here in NC for almost 4 years now, I haven't noticed my dogs picking up any sort of drawl. Now that I have this new info however, I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that my dogs sound like uneducated- cockney- babbling weirdos. What fun.

So here I am in Lander Wyoming. What a truly crazy place. Yesterday I went spelunking at the 'rise of the sinks' which is some big old cave up here. There a river that disappears into the side of mountain, only to reappear 1/2 mile down the canyon. Hence the name. The river had about a foot of ice on it, but was flowing full force underneath. You could stand on top of the water that waw rushing right beneath your feet. Pretty cool. So after the gig I got invited to an afters party where "we're playing naked twister man, you've gotta come."....."just don't bring any indians." "What?" I asked. "I don't allow any indians in my house, they always bring the cops!" he said. So needless to say.....I had my reservations.
